Let’s see… the first thing I want to mention when diving into this review is probably… how truly unique it is, and how much it reminds me that this is undeniably a work by Uchida-sensei. As someone who has read quite a few of his NTR novels, I feel this one perfectly balances his signature originality with enough accessibility to satisfy even those who aren’t used to overly hardcore plots.

Aside from the epilogue, the entire story takes place over a mere 2-day, 2-night hot spring trip. This makes it the most condensed work with the fastest character development that sensei has ever written. However, the ideas he packed into this short trip are incredibly bold and rarely explored in typical netorare plots. It’s a story woven from a mix of heavy psychological manipulation and genuinely sincere emotions. The addition of the husband’s “blatant voyeurism” initially made me think the story might shift toward netorase, so I was really glad that sensei kept the pure netorare spirit alive right to the very end.

Personally, I see this novel as a playground for Uchida-sensei to fully unleash his passion, freely experimenting with elements he wanted to try out. Although his past works are just as unique, if not more so, it’s perhaps this streamlined setting that makes those traits stand out even more. Of course, that doesn’t mean the writing is rushed. Sensei’s prose remains as intensely captivating as ever. All the characters’ psychological shifts are portrayed logically (and erotically), despite everything happening in just two days. Most importantly, the sex scenes – the core of the work, are as passionate and intense as always, staying true to sensei’s signature style. Because of that, if you’ve enjoyed his previous works, this novel definitely won’t let you down.

To sum up, I feel this is a story that doesn’t try too hard to be a masterpiece, yet it is still packed with unconventional elements. This gives it a distinct charm, not only when compared to the general market but also when stacked up against Uchida-sensei’s own previous works. The only reason I can’t give it a full 5 stars is because the specific elements this time didn’t quite align with my personal fetishes. Even so, I was completely immersed and thoroughly enjoyed the story.
